Provides quality customer service to our customers in the Seafood Department. Due to scheduling requirements, the Seafood Associate will be the only associate working in the department for a large percentage of the Associate's working time. As a result, the Seafood Associate must be able to fulfill all responsibilities listed below when necessary. Maximizes sales through excellent customer service. Requirements Provides friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service. Completes proper fillet, packaging, and traying of all special orders. Proper and safe use of all equipment, including maintenance and daily sanitation of all equipment. Proper stocking, pricing/labeling, and rotation of fresh fish, shell fish, and pre-cooked seafood items. Maintains proper case merchandising and allocation and set up ice beds. Ability to safely operate all Seafood Department equipment, including steamer, knife, wrapper, slicer, and ice machine. Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift as needed to stock or pull product for processing. Ability to withstand a cold working environment (45° F or less) for long periods of time. Ability to weigh, price, label, organize, rotate and identify all varieties of seafood carried by Food Lion. Ability to have a working knowledge of seafood preparation in order to operate the steamer and help customers with preparation of their seafood selection. This list is not all inclusive.
